Onboarding & Planning FAQs

Starting with a new financial advisory firm can feel like a big step. These FAQs are here to make the process clear, simple, and transparent. If you still have questions, we’re happy to answer them during your complimentary intro call.

Quick overview: Intro Call → Proposal → Engagement Agreement → Questionnaire & Document Upload → Draft Plan Review → Final Plan Delivery → Optional Implementation Proposal

Getting Started

How do we get started?

The first step is a complimentary intro call. We’ll learn what you’re hoping to accomplish, determine whether we’re a good fit, and identify what type of engagement makes the most sense.

What happens after the intro call?

If it looks like a fit, we’ll email you a personalized proposal outlining scope, timeline, and pricing. If you decide to proceed, you’ll work with Lisa to gather the details needed to prepare your engagement agreement.

What types of engagements do you offer?

We tailor the engagement to what you need right now. Examples include a full financial plan, retirement income planning, insurance needs analysis, tax strategy modeling, or other focused planning projects. We’ll clarify the best fit during the intro call.

Do you work with people who are already working with another advisor?

Yes, sometimes. Some clients come to us for a second opinion or a planning engagement, and later decide whether to implement changes on their own or with support.

Do you have minimums?

It depends on the type of engagement. Some planning projects don’t require an asset minimum. We’ll address this clearly during the intro call and in your proposal.

Timeline & What to Expect

How long does the planning process take?

Most planning engagements take 2–4 weeks after we receive your completed questionnaire and documents, depending on complexity and scheduling.

What is the overall onboarding process?

In short: Intro Call → Proposal → Engagement Agreement → Questionnaire + Document Upload → Draft Plan Review → Final Plan Delivery → Optional Implementation Proposal.

What is the “draft plan review” meeting?

It’s a collaborative working session where we review your draft plan, confirm key assumptions, clarify open questions, and make sure you feel aligned with the direction before we finalize.

What happens at the final plan delivery meeting?

We deliver your completed plan and walk you through an executive summary with a prioritized action checklist, so you know exactly what to do next (and in what order).
